My only experience of Nevada was on a trip from Salt Lake City to see that Salt Lakes. At one point we had to decide whether to take the upcoming exit and turn around or take the next one. Having decided to keep going for one more exit, we ultimately discovered that it was about 40 miles further on, and ended up being just after the Nevada border. Apart from a billboard advertising a casino, it did seem rather empty.
